Evernote is so useful for many different applications from keeping receipts to meeting notes, to writing sermons, songs, blog posts, to do lists, and much more. As I have used it over the past few years it has become the one place I go to create, well, pretty much anything.
Here are a few reasons Evernote works so well for this.
1. Everything is kept in one place –
Whatever you write is stored in evernote. This makes it a one stop repository for all of your ideas, thoughts, and writings. You can clip ideas from the web, and forward emails. You can use a program called IFFT and made it so that when you favorite a tweet it will automatically save in evernote. I use the evernote moleskine notebook, take a photo of my notes and save it in evernote.
2. Everything is searchable –
Looking for some games you did several months ago. If you wrote it down, or clipped it into evernote then all you have to do is type the name, or word game, or even something you used in the game like styrofoam cup. Evernote will pull all of those results so you can find what you are looking for.
3. Everything is Everywhere –
Since it syncs with the web, computer and devices, then it is also in all of those places at one time. Imagine if everything you had ever written was available to you no matter where you were. You can start working on a message using your laptop and finish it up while waiting on your oil to be changed at the auto shop.
4. Almost anything can be saved –
Photos, documents, PDFs, Webpages, tweets, emails, text messages, scans, links, and even audio recordings can be put into Evernote. It truly is a repository for almost anything.
I’ll leave the 5th reason up to you. Do you use evernote? If so, what is your reason for using it? Tell me about it in the comments below.
