When someone comments on the success of our youth program I tell them about our small group leaders. The truth is that our youth and adults who lead our small groups ARE the strength of our youth ministry. So whenever possible I try to make sure they know how much they are appreciated.
Here are 5 ways to show you appreciate your small group leaders…
1. Tell them. Tell them directly how much you appreciate their dedication, commitment and caring.
2. Talk about them. Like the example above, make sure to tell others about what a great job your small group leaders are doing.
3. Equip Them. Buy them a book, offer training, take them to a seminar.
4. Buy Them Stuff. This does not have to be big. A $5 gift card to Sonic or Starbucks can go a long way.
5. Pray for them. Constantly. Be specific. Let them know you are praying for them.
This list is just the beginning. What would you add?
