Twitter recently launched Vine, their entry into the micro video sharing market. Users capture 6 second videos which are then played over and over in a loop. According to the Vine blog, Co-founder & GM Dom Hofmann says that Vine is,
“…a new mobile service that lets you create and share beautiful, short looping videos.” and that, “With Vine, capturing life in motion is fun and easy.”
Vine is new, however I can already see possibilities for it’s use in Youth Ministry.
1. Announcements – Remind your group about an upcoming event, with video and sound. Short sweet and to the point.
2. Verse of the Day – Record yourself saying a Bible verse of the day. Send it out on Facebook, Twitter or on your website.
3. Video Scavenger Hunt – Like the photo scavenger hunt but have them record short videos, post on Vine.
4. Video Updates – Record short snippets of your mission trip, game night or worship service for others to see.
5. Micro Video Blog – Share your thoughts, or answers to youth questions, 6 seconds at a time.
What would you add to the list? Would you use Vine?
Here’s my first Vine post…
