Every Friday I pick out 5 of my favorite youth ministry blog posts that I have read over the past week. These are post I found especially informative, inspiring, helpful or just fun. Here are my picks for this week:
1. Teaching with Visuals – The Overflow- By Brian Barry (@BrianCBarry) – Brian shares how using visuals can reenforce your messages and help teens to remember key points better.
2. GUEST POST: Paint Slide! – More Than Dodgeball – Guest Post by Colton Harker (@ColtonHarker) – Colton tells us about a creative way to get youth involved using tarps, paint, tape and a sheet to create a masterpiece. This one is definitely going on our summer to do list.
3. Big Spoon – Youth Leader Stash – by chad swanzy – Youth Leader Stash is always a great source of games and ideas. Check out this game using spoons, broomsticks and oatmeal? Sounds messy but fun!
4. 21 Day Prayer Challenge for Students – Justin Knowles Blog – by Justin Knowles (@justinknowles3 )- Justin wanted to help his students learn how to pray and to help guide and direct them in their prayers. He created this 21 Day Prayer Challenge to do just that. Check it out!
5. Make Lent a Spiritual Time – Thoughts on Life, God and Ministry – by Jason Huffman (@jasonbhuffman) Jason is writing a post a day during Lent. In this first one he talks about how we can refocus and keep Lent less about seeing if we can give something up, and more about focusing on God.
