We purchased Grow Curriculum for use this fall, and we already used trello. I wondered if the digital trello board could be used in place of the physical planning board.
What is Grow?
We purchased Grow Curriculum form Kenny and Elle Campbell recently and I just got around to watching the video about creating an yearly overview of your youth group curriculum. They walk you through, month by month, laying out your over all themes, small group curriculum, leader training, games, parent info and more.
In the video they have this nice, awesome board with cards to pin up and create your annual Grow Curriculum planning strategy and overview. This way you can share this with your youth parents, volunteers, staff and Senior Pastor.
What is Trello?
Trello is a great way to organize information and collaborate with your team. Think of pinterest, but for your group. You create cards and put them on boards. You can move those cards around. It makes it easy to attach links, pictures and more to each card, and share it with your team.
Why Use Trello for Grow Curriculum?
Using the idea of a digital board I laid out my year on Trello. I used the label feature of trello to match the color of cards used in the grow curriculum. Here are a few reasons I think I will like using trello for Grow Curriculum Annual Planning.
Links and Attachments
Trello allows me to add links and attachments to cards. This means I not only have a card for this week’s curriculum but I can attach this weeks curriculum to that card. It is downloadable for me or anyone from my team who needs to use it. I can do the same with graphics, video links, parent cues or anything else. Please be careful if you post Grow Curriculum attachments to only do so for use by your team.
Collaboration
Anyone on my team can collaborate with me. This means they can leave questions about small groups, suggest games or send sermon ideas. We can collaborate on dates and changes that may occur throughout the year.
Sharing
Using trello for grow curriculum makes it easily sharable wherever I need it. I can send it to all of my volunteers and parents. I can project it up on to our tv or projector for planning meetings.
Try It Out Yourself
