Digital Prayer Stations
We are now social distancing and for many of us that means finding new ways to do ministry. I have seen many posts about different games to play, or resources like curriculum or text message Bible study and such for use during this time. However I thought there was one thing missing. Prayer Stations
So I asked my friend Marla, who is awesome at coming up with prayer stations, if an online version of prayer stations would work. After some thought, prayer she sent me some great prayer stations. Then I formatted them for instagram stories and here they are.
Each station uses a common item would find around the house. It might be a mirror, or a light or a bed. Each one has a thought and prayer focus based on that item. And they all have a scripture reading as well.
The hope is that students would open up the first photo and then walk and find the same item in their house. Then read the prompt and scripture and respond if possible.
DOWNLOAD DIGITAL PRAYER STATIONS
What You Get
The digital prayer stations consist of 37 .png files. There is a folder labled info and it contains things like instructions, a cover slide and more.
When you open the folder called “Prayer Station Slides” you will find 11 prayer stations that have 3 slides each. The first slide of each station contains just title and photo. The second and third slides contain scripture and prayer focus.
How To Use
There are three different ways to use these slides on Instagram story depending on how much time and how interactive you want it to be.
One Slide
First, you can just post the 3rd slide of each station you want to use in your Instagram story. This contains all the information they need and uses up the fewest amount of slides.
3 Slides
Second, you can post the three slides per station so that each slide reveals the next part of the prayer station.
Interactive Version
Finally, it’s real easy to make this an interactive prayer station. Post the three slides and then add the 1st blank slide again. Then use the questions sticker on instagram to ask a question and provide a place to respond.
Prayer Response Prompts
Here is a suggested prompt for each prayer station.
Phone – Who is someone you really need to call or reach out to?
Fridge – How can you share what you have with others?
Fridge Cont.. – What worry do you have that you need to turn over to God?
Sink – What reminds you to be humble?
Bed – Share something that helps you to relax and rest
Toilet Paper – Why is it hard to think of others needs right now?
Car – What are some specific prayers you can say for these?
Mirror – What words remind you of the ways God takes care of you?
Hat – Why is it important to remember God keeps his promises?
Window- What has nature taught you this week?
Light – How can we shine the light of Christ in this dark world?
I hope this resource is helpful during this time of social distancing. My hope is to provide just a few resources that can be helpful during the coronavirus.
Thank yall for creating and sharing. Yall are awesome!
