Ready to play table tennis almost anywhere, on almost any table? Check out the Sportcraft Anywhere Table Tennis Set. Instead of a net that slides onto posts attached to the table, this net retracts into the posts. The posts are large enough to clamp on to a variety of tables, and use pressure so there is no tightening. The best thing is that the net can be any size, up to 75 inches wide.
We originally used the net on a round table for playing scatterpong. When the net on our table tennis table was broken, I moved the retractable net there. It has not moved since. It is always taught, and always the correct height.
My only complaint is that now, after a year, the springs inside have started to become a little loose. The net has plenty of tension to stretch and maintain it’s shape across any table, however does not retract fully into the post when the net is being taken down to be stored. This does not really present any problems for us.
These would be great to take along on retreats or camps. You may not have access to a complete table, but some fun games can be had on different tables of varying sizes. And there’s always Scatterpong.
The set comes with two paddles, three ping pong balls and a carrying case. I personally have seen them at Academy and Target, and they are available on Amazon for $25.
