This past fall our youth program began doing a Wednesday Night program for the first time. This consists of dinner, a game or two, time of worship and small groups. As I was preparing, I knew I needed small group and series curriculum to use, but was not sure where to look. Maybe you are in the same situation. Are you looking for small group and series curriculum for your youth? Here are three places that you can look:
1. Purchase Online – This is the easiest and fastest, and usually pretty good. Doug Field’s Simply Youth Ministry website has tons of small group curriculum. We used one of the Live Curriculum for our most recent series.
2. Recycle – I have probably gone to 30-40 week long church camps in my life. Each one had a curriculum, small group times etc. Usually these were written by one of the youth leaders or camp leaders. Why not use one of those. A 5 day camp curriculum could easily be adapted into a 4-5 week series.
3. Write Your Own – You know your kids best. While a purchased curriculum might be fine, there will be times when it will be best to write your own curriculum. You don’t even have to do it on your own. Get some of your youth together, have them brainstorm ideas, search for scriptures and help you craft the message and small groups. Need some series ideas? Here’s a list our youth are looking through right now.
Where do you find your small group curriculum?
