My phone charge used to last three or four days. That was when my phone made calls and sent texts. Today my phone is my camera, video camera, bible, audio recorder and much more. Now illuminated screens, bigger processors, and thousands of apps running constantly drain the battery faster than ever.
I have tried the iphone case battery packs that charge your phone while you go. These present a few problems.
1. They prohibit other cases being used.
2. They can only be used for one particular phone.
3. Hard to share
But here’s a great solution. External USB battery Backup.
I plug it in and let it charge, then throw it in my bag. When I need to recharge my phone, I just plug my iPhone/ipad cable into the usb port, turn it on, and charge away.
And it solves the problems mentioned above –
1. I can use whatever case I like – Since it charges just like it would off the wall charger, it does not matter what case I use.
2. I have used it not only for my phone, but my ipad, bluetooth earpiece, or anything that uses a USB plug to charge.
3. I can share it. There are only so many plugs in a church van or bus, and youth aren’t good about saving their battery. I can take this and hand it to any kid to give their phone enough charge to call home.
I currently use the Mophie Powerstation but here is a list of the top 5 according to Lifehacker.com.
